I'm hopeful. Cynical... but I'll keep those thoughts to myself. Everyone update if they actually get the PDF.

And I can't wait to collect the names of known defenders who upload the PDF to torrents or sharing sites....

That's a bit more cynical than I usually am.
If they DO share it out like that and are stupid enough to leave their own names on them... well. They reep what they sow.

Side note, they're stamped. Stamped like crazy. Full name, first and last, AND your Email address. Every page. lol.
I don't mind. I don't share my PDFs except with in my own family (All my Ipads and computers and stuff)) but yeah, it'll be a hassle to rip this thing off.

I plan to put it on my lap top, iPhone and the wife's iPad. That way I have it ready to go when I leave the house.

Probably means that they are typing in the email addy's, and sending the file one by one, instead of in bulk.
Wouldn't it be easier to put up a password protected portion of the site, email each person a specific password, and let everyone go download it?

They stated on FB that's exactly what they're doing. Said over 100 went out tonight and the other 90 or so would go out tomorrow.

Holy dark ages batman. Is he manually typing each one? That could explain why we couldn't get it before the actual physical copy.

Not really. It's an email with a link in it. I imagine the program used to stamp them might add an extra step, but you're still talking about cutting and pasting stuff from a few open files into the right places.
20-30 seconds per.

Barking mad, the lot of them... if they'd hooked up with a distributor or shelled out for the relatively cheap software to let them automate distribution, the lot could have been handled with one click...

What's worse, is they're already hooked up with one. They technically have a store on Drive Thru.( They just use it for out of print/old books) You can set up 'coupons' with DriveThru. Basically you set it up so that verified people can DL the product, and you mail out the link to the people. They go to DriveThru and dl your book. Every one from Onyx path I've gotten has worked that way.

Kevin/Palladium don't like PDFs. Which is what they've directly stated in the past.
As for not liking DriveThru, I suspect it's for the same reason that they got kicked off/don't use Amazon...

Ugg wrote this and the guys came to 'fix' my internet. had to restart and lost the post. They didn't fully fix it either, but here we go.
I wasn't there. I've never worked for Palladium. Nor for Amazon. This is just what I've heard/been told, likely 2nd, 3rd or 4th hand. So take it as you will.
Apparently Palladium did have an online store with Amazon for a short while. There was some disagreement about the books being sold there. I've heard that amazon tried to enforce the discount it gives on books, or tried to make Palladium do so. Kevin refused wanting full price for the books. It either ended there and Palladium was kicked off, or I've heard more often that in retaliation Kevin "upped" The price on the books on amazon, so that when the discount kicked in, they were at 'cover' price, so he'd get all of his money. He didn't want to give any of the money to Amazon, but wanted to sell on their site but not using their rules.
Thus there was some sort of dust up, and this ended with Palladium being kicked off Amazon.
You can find 'used" palladium books on Amazon, sold by individuals or even second hand sellers, but there's no "Official Palladium Store" on Amazon due to Palladium's refusal to follow the rules and 'adjusting' of the prices on their books.
Now.. again. I wasn't there. I don't speak for nor have insider information. I've just heard the story a number of times from different people. And... Palladium does not currently sell there, which would give their books an enormous enormous market. Second hand sales do not benefit Palladium itself.

See... Now I had heard that PB pulled off Amazon. Somethin to do with amazon trying enforce deep discounts they contractually could not.
So again... There are two sides to every story.

Amazon sells thousands and thousands and thousands of books and other products every day. Those people have no problem using amazon.
Sorry Damian. I think this is just a 'Defending' post.

I buy most of my books and things off amazon, including a copy of Robotech: Genesis pits for cover price from a Seller who participated in the prime program... but it wouldn't surprised me if there were problems on Amazon's end, they aren't exactly a moral business... hell they are opening a warehouse here in Tampa, because the State offered them such a deal and so many Subsidies to come here, just so they can collect sales tax off people in FL who buy off amazon.

I think this is just a 'Defending' post. and because amazon is a HUGE corporation they are obviously above reproach? There are two sides to every story and the truth is often something in the middle of both.

Kevin doesn't produce enough books to justify the cut amazon would want... in the 80's they did 10K print runs of Robotech books, today its barely half that.. Stephen King's publisher prints 100,000 copies of a book... so Amazon selling them and getting a deal form the publisher isn't hurting the publisher's bottom line. Kevin's most profitable sales model is for fans to buy them at cover price from the Palladium store... he's paying about 4-5 a book, for one that he sells for 17 in his store, or 7-8 to a distributor...

Amazon is the Walmart of online retailers... just no stores for unions to pay people to protest in front of... I think your right, and their is a truth, and it ends with both sides in the deal doing something wrong.

I think this is just a 'Defending' post. and because amazon is a HUGE corporation they are obviously above reproach? There are two sides to every story and the truth is often something in the middle of both. Not because Amazon is above reproach, but because we know Kevin does shady business practices and isn't above such things. He lies to his customer base pretty much WEEKLY. Not 'stretches the truth' or 'fibs' but full out lies to them most every week in official press releases and has done so for years. He's produced 'limited time special items' and taken money for them under that pretense and then ends up selling those special items himself on Ebay after the event. He constantly advertises for his private Ebay store on his company website where he sells 'hard to find' or rare items on said private website. hell he's advertized yardsales conducted out of the company werehouse. If you follow the links above you can see their history of going after their fans and what not online and all. You can see how they treat their writers. Hell some of them post here. Ask Josh about it. So yeah, when I hear he did something like the story above, I belive it. Why? because it fits in directly with what they've done over the past 30 years. Do I know if it happened? no. I was very clear to preface my post with that. Do I think it happened? Yeah. I've heard it a number of times from a number of people. Different details but the same general story. You say Amazon was trying to enforce deep discounts that they contractually could not. Please explain this? Millions if not tens of millions or hundreds of millions of books have been sold via amazon. How/why did amazon try and screw over the one company we're discussing to the point that they alone have decided not to sell there?

And I have heard similar tales from other small retailers of amazon less than stellar practices.). I have also witnessed a tendency for some to convict palladium on half truths and hear say. You accuse me of knee jerk defense. I would say your flat dismissal of any possibility that something other tan what you want to be true is the knee jerk response here.
