Consider me on it.
You realize they don't carry a LOT of troops though right?
Also I thought NG had the Skybunker aerial APC?
Also I'll be doing the conversion as if I were doing it for Star Wars so the MDC and weapon damages may need to be dialed back a bit.
How soon do you need it?

Yeah they have a 4 person crew (2 Gunners, 1 pilot, 2 co-pilot) and can carry 30 toops. Kinda like slightly larger Blackhawk choppers.
As for 'need' not too fast. Our game will be the weekend after Christmas. If that's too soon I can wing it. Just thought someone might wanna give her a go. I have some lil Star Wars Titanium ones, so we can use them for visuals. lol.

No problem
Just keep in mind I am going to convert it as if I were doing it FOR star wars. I'll make a note when I post here as to hwo much you should dial it back

Yeah they have a 4 person crew (2 Gunners, 1 pilot, 2 co-pilot) and can carry 30 toops. Kinda like slightly larger Blackhawk choppers. At 4 person crew, and 30 troops.. more like a Shythook than a Crashhawk.. err, I mean, more like a Chinook than a Blackhawk.

I long ago had a file converting star wars to rifts, but it was done before Attack of the clones, so that version didn't exist. as for a Quick and dirty version... I can probably spit stats out from the saga Books

according to sources it was modeled after the HIND Copter: Rpg stats put it at 1000m Altitude, 620kph top speed. armaments: 2 Light laser cannons, 2 Turreted Light Particle Turrets, 2 Medium Missiles, 2 Batteries of SRM Volley 4 With 2 reloads. 2 ton cargo, 30 passengers, Guesstimate 100 MDC per bubble. at 17.4m We Can Guess it has about 170 MDC from ARmor plating and roughly 400 MDC hull.

Here Sci-Fi - worldofjaymz.wikia.com/wiki/LAAT/i_Transport_GunshipI'd recommend cutting the laser damages in half, changing the Missile Launchers to Short Range Missiles and changing the Rocket Launchers to Medium Range Missiles as that makes more sense for Rifts. Also under systems of note just use standard Robot Systems. Edit - oh yeah obviously the space data is unneeded for your purposes too.

The mdc of the gunship is ridiculously high. These things were blown apart by their own armaments. It's smaller then a Flying fang and has MDC equal to robot twice it's size. On screen, these things were taken out by Emp Grenades and Low level Rocket launchers. they're also NOT really meant for Transatmospheric fighting, They had other designs for that.
This isn't the LIGHT Assault transport at all. It's ALSO not 60 tons.
the Vehicle is classified an AIRSPEEDER, not a Space fighter. they were originally Mining Transports, Not Glitterboy transports.

They were flown in space in Clone Wars. There are VERY few robots that are 60+ feet tall and those that re indeed have significantly more MDC than 800 (The LAAT is 60ish feet long) and who is to say just how "weak" the low level rocket launchers were.
Unless you have a canon source for it's weight I'll stick to 60 tons as it is 60ish feet long, carries a bunch of missiles and other armaments, big engines, and is armoured. If it was based on the HIND then it isn't as "light" as the name suggests.
This is how I see it being statted. It works in my setting.
The Flying Fang by the way is only 12ish meters long (40ish feet) so about 2/3 the length and nowhere near the height or wingspan so not sure what ship you were looking at.

Well 1. this unit is mostly hollow. 2. It's basically a walled up flying Flatbed, with big engines on top. 3. it's A LIGHT assault. 4. The Heavy Assault version flies in space. It Looks Different, but similar. Main Difference, NO Bubbles. It has armored slit, and is SPACE capable. and it's Certainly not mostly Empty space, nor made from converted Mining ships!
and from the wookie page:
The LAAT/i was a repulsorlift infantry transport capable of carrying up to thirty troopers. Secondary functions included reconnaissance, direct fire support, search-and-recovery, and low-altitude air-to-ground and air-to-air strikes against vehicles ranging from airspeeders to starfighters.
In addition to its trooper complement, housed on a deckplate protected by drooping wings and a sliding side door, the LAAT/i could carry four military speeder bikes in an aft-deployable rack. The crew complement comprised a clone trooper pilot and co-pilot/forward gunner in the hunchbacked cockpit, and two auxiliary gunners stationed in pinpoint composite-beam turrets extending on articulated arms from the troop cabin. An IM-6 medical droid was commonly carried aboard in an emergency locker. In the event of emergencies, the cockpit capsule could separate from the main craft to act as an escape pod.[4]
The LAAT/i was a fully armed gun platform, with a complete arsenal of weaponry that consisted of three anti-personnel laser turrets, two forward-facing, one covering the stern hatch; two top-mounted mass-driver missile launchers fed by rear-mounted ordnance belts and commonly loaded with short-range homing missiles, HE (high explosive), HEAP (high explosive armor-piercing), and APF (anti-personnel fragmentation) rounds; four composite-beam, pin-point laser turrets, (on some models, the slot for these Balls were inter-changeable with floodlights) two of which were automated bubble-turrets located on either wing; and eight light air-to-air rockets stowed on the underside of each wing.[1]
Infantry gunships were equipped with atmospheric containment shielding and could be deployed from space, yet could not reach orbit altitude without a carrier vessel. The LAAT/i's optimal fighting range was in the lower atmosphere, where they could reach speeds in excess of six hundred kilometers per hour. A single Acclamator-class assault ship could carry up to eighty LAAT-series gunships, while a Venator-class Star Destroyer had space for half that complement. The LAAT/i was highly effective but lacked large amounts of armor making it a vulnerable target. LAATi snowLAAT/i gunships on Orto Plutonia
When approaching a target, the main cabin would light up red, a visual indicator to stand by, when troopers would conduct last-moment preparations including checking their ammunition and communication systems. Once touching down, the red lights would change to green, signaling clearance to debark.[10]
Within the main cabin were various handles attached to cables hanging from the ceiling of the main cabin. When the gunship's hatches were open, clone troopers would hold on to these to help keep their balance while the gunship was in flight. In the case of rapid deployment, clone troopers could hang on to these as the cables were lowered to the ground for quick deployment so the LAAT/i wouldn't need to land. However, during this process, both the clone troopers and gunship were vulnerable to enemy fire, so landing and debarking in the regular manner was the more common way to deploy troops.
LAAT/i gunships were often a welcome sight for exhausted clone troopers and their Jedi commanders.
The assault gunships were capable of being fitted out for stealth missions by the addition of engine baffles and shields, an electromagnetic emission and heat signature-reducing black polymer, as well as the removal of its weaponry. Those modifications made the main hold almost sound-proof.[11]
From what we gather: Low armor = Low MDC was based on atmospheric Design = Jets are roughly the same size as this thing, and do not have 800 MDC unless you're talking about the uparmored Stealth bombers. It had roughly 8000lbs set aside for crew and pasengers. a Light Cruiser could hold 8 of these. meaning they're not particularly heavy. There is a Space Gunship model with a pressurized cabin and change of armaments.

Thank you but you didn't need to quote a page from a site that I have corrected and contributed too in the past. Again I welcome you to post your own version up. As i said it works as I have done it for consistency in my version of Palladium Star Wars. I won't be changing it based on your opinion of how it should be though what I post never ends up staying quite the same over time

Yibber you realize the stuff you cut and pasted from Wookiepedia contradicts what you're trying to claim right? it even says they can make drops from space "Infantry gunships were equipped with atmospheric containment shielding and could be deployed from space" and had plenty of weaponry. "The LAAT/i was a fully armed gun platform, with a complete arsenal of weaponry that consisted of three anti-personnel laser turrets, two forward-facing, one covering the stern hatch; two top-mounted mass-driver missile launchers fed by rear-mounted ordnance belts and commonly loaded with short-range homing missiles, HE (high explosive), HEAP (high explosive armor-piercing), and APF (anti-personnel fragmentation) rounds; four composite-beam, pin-point laser turrets, (on some models, the slot for these Balls were inter-changeable with floodlights) two of which were automated bubble-turrets located on either wing; and eight light air-to-air rockets stowed on the underside of each wing.[1]"
Which I might point out, leaves out the tail gun too.
They were pretty badass. They did suffer from the Starwars "One shot and blow up" syndrome, that every starwars ship suffered from at some point in the movies, but that doesn't really define their toughness. I mean we saw a super star destroyer, 12 miles long giver or take, crash due to one Awing flying into the bridge. lol
I'm not really one to gauge weight all that well, but you're acting like it was made of balsa wood with pop guns. They were pretty badass with multiple missiles, laser turrets etc, and carried men and gear into battle.

Those Were up armored models, and they LOOK different. All the variants except the stealth and rescue gunship Look different. the Atmospheric model had open Canopy == Open canopy flimsy armor.
the stated speed of the space variant of the troop transport is 50 Megalights, which is roughly.. mach 15 by palladium numbers. The X/Y wings can achieve a little over Mach 1000, and the A wings can Achieve a little over mach 1500.

No Yibber.. they just opened the sliding doors. What you're noticing is "There's 8,000 different artists renditions of the same thing"
Your own quote said they could drop from space, were armed to the teeth and had sturdy armor plating. What you're preceiving as an open canopy is the same ship with the doors slung back. Sort of like they'd fly with the doors back on heuy's in Vietnam.

that's like not acknowledging any diffirence between Cyclones, because they look the same.

I mean seriously you are lacking in reading comprehension. they clearly even state the different models, and if you Looked ta them you'd see the changes!... Not all of them were space capable, just because One episode of Clone wars shows them in space. THEY ARE NOT ALL THE SAME SHIP.

It's not just one episode. It shows them in many different episodes. Flying right off the Star Destroyers and down to planets. There are different models, but the write up you quoted was from the wookiepedia page. They're drop capable. They have the weapons, etc. So don't take shots at others reading comprehension when apparently you're missing the first sentence of the first paragraph of the page you're quoting from. (After the quote) "The Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry (LAAT/i), often referred to as the Republic attack gunship or Republic Gunship, was a specialized gunship designed for aerial-based support and infantry transportation. " *GASP* How about that.... the LAAT/i "OFTEN REFRRED TO AS THE REPUBLIC ATTACK GUNSHIP OR REPUBLIC GUNSHIP" So..... want to cut back on the snide comments there? Perhaps you should apply more reading comprehension to the page you're quoting from? Your quote was only a sentence or two down the page. starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Low_Altitude_Assault_Transport/infantryYour own quote and the quote on the page says directly "Infantry gunships were equipped with atmospheric containment shielding and could be deployed from space, yet could not reach orbit altitude without a carrier vessel." COULD BE DEPLOYED FROM SPACE So.... Again, don't be making jabs about OTHER people's Reading comprehension. Kay?

was based on atmospheric Design = Jets are roughly the same size as this thing, and do not have 800 MDC unless you're talking about the uparmored Stealth bombers. I will let those better versed deal with the SW specific issues. I want to focus on this one line, especially at the end. You do realize you can't uparmor a stealth bomber, right? Uparmor attaches to the hull of a vehicle, and is another layer of protection. For a stealth bomber, it's skin is what gives it the bulk of it's stealth ability. If you added uparmor to it, it wouldn't be stealth, because it would lose the radar protection it has. In fact, I'm 95% sure that stealth aircraft don't even have the points for attaching another layer of armor. The material that stealth bombers are made from is a graphite, that's stronger than steel but lighter than aluminum. And so expensive that trying to add another layer is beyond cost prohibitive. ---------------------------------------------------------- And one additional point. Pretty much every time you disagree with someone, you come across as an argumentative ass. That makes people REALLY not like you, or reading what you have to say. It does, in fact, make people want to IGNORE what you have to say. There are plenty of ways to politely, or at least respectfully, disagree. You might want to try some of them. Just a friendly suggestion.

Rifts has uparmored stealth bombers (just look at the CS Nightwing design) ... what they did was fold the fuselage into a smaller form. and silly amounts of MDc.

after going over the various guides... I'd say jaymz' version is fine for the LAAT/I model. But it was not the original model , as seen during geonosis. going by the AUGG and other books, the vehicle would come out to around 60 tons and have x y z features. However, the original Atmospheric model, would be Half those mdc values and not capable of being used in space. it also had less weapons and did not have 8 missile pilons like the LAATI/model that version i would put at 1/4 mdc since it was repo'd mining ship.
