Has anyone else just not feeling the palladium vibe these days? I mean it used to be my favorite thing just to play some rifts but not so much anymore. I just don't have any spark for it like I used to, don't get me wrong this is only with palladium. Beyond anima, Star Wars hell even D&D I have adventures and character ideas just coming to me but not palladium anymore.

its cause product is slow and you didn't like half the new books that came out... and or missed out on various Kickstarted Palladium titles.

Not for palladium in general but for rifts yeah. Got plenty of inspiration for PF, HU, and BTS. But Rifts is just Meh.

'lil bit, yeah... but mostly I just use the RT RPG as a foundation for writing my own Macross games. Nothing coming out right now is really thrilling or even interesting, so it's left me feeling a bit flat.

I've been burnt out with rifts since the siege of Tolkien... nothing has really sparked my interests in tabletop rpgs except onyx paths work with the 20th anniversary of the white Wolfe game lines... they announced the wraith 20 kickatarter will be done in the fall... so yeah

If anything mine has reignited. I just ordered my first ever grab bag last night. I could only afford media mail. As long as I placed my order last night does that mean it goes out today? I hope Kev and crew were able to get it out today. I paid an extra $3 for personal handling. Does that mean I might get stuff I didn't ask for?

If anything mine has reignited. I just ordered my first ever grab bag last night. I could only afford media mail. As long as I placed my order last night does that mean it goes out today? I hope Kev and crew were able to get it out today. I paid an extra $3 for personal handling. Does that mean I might get stuff I didn't ask for? They turn over the Grab bags pretty quick, but it's not garenteed out the next day. It's Christmas and a lot of people are making orders. There's the --possibility-- yours might not be priority, as it was medial mail and there's very little chance it'd make it to you by Christmas. Those with overnight or the like might have been prioritized, as they still could make it by the 25th. If I were to guess though, I suspect it's 'first come first serve' when it comes to the boxing of the grab bags though. So depending on your number in line, and how many trips they make to the post office a day, one about lunch or more than one with one later in the afternoon, it may have gone out, or it may go out tomorrow. Really depends on how many people were infront of you and when they go to the post. The extra $3 for 'personal handing' we all pay, as they 'personally pick out what goes in your bag, and add signatures if requested'. So that's not really 'special'. It's just part of the package. (It IS cool that they will give sigs, but the $3 isn't 'special' in and of itself) As for the 'Might you get stuff you didn't ask for'? That's always a possibility. If you listed off 8 to 10 items as requested, and they're not like CRAZY SAUCE, you'll likely get 2 or 3 of your requests minimum. Doesn't mean you'll get them all, or even your 1,2,3,4. They look at your list and try and build you a good package. Grabbing 3 or 4 books to get you close to the $80-90 price point. When they get teh 3 or 4 books they'll add it up and if it's low, they'll throw in some extras. Like... the print package, or the coloring book, or a rifter or two. etc. The Swimsuit rifters are used for this a lot. As is the coloring book. Magnets. Dice bags and such. That's to ensure you A) Get books you've requested and B) Make sure you get a full $80-$90 in product. I've bought many grab bags over the years. Usually 3 per year with last year being an exception due to .... issues I had with Palladium at the time. This year I've already bought 2. All in all probably 12 to 18 grab bags total. I've got a -stack- of the white hinged boxes they sent them in (Till this year). I've never once been dissapointed. This year's first, I received my #1, #2 #3 nd #8th pick of the ten on my list. And the #1 was very special. (Northern Gun Hardcover). As long as you give a nice long list of what you want. and they're not 'out of print' or 'rare items' you'll get a number of things on your list. The more rare the item you're asking for, the less chance, but that doesn't mean they'll ignore your list. In all my years on the Official Boards I think I've seen .... twice, where people have objected to their GB, and one of them, was when one guy got another guy's Grab bag. You're pretty good to go if you gave them a list of things you want. As for Media mail 5 days before Christmas? *winces* Chances are you won't see that baby till after Christmas.

Hope so too. Good luck!
I ordered my second On.... the 15th? Perhaps the 16th. I've not gotten mine yet. You ordered yours just before midnight on the 20th, so the earliest it could have possibly been posted would be lunch or so on the 21st. Thing is, that's Saturday. Posts offices often close very early on Saturday.
Soooo.... looking at that... Your box will probably go out tomorrow(Today, Monday) or Tuesday. If no one gets sick. Or goes on vacation early. Palladium staffers have very little in the way of immune systems. Christmas is on Wednesday.
I hope it's tomorrow. Palladium really do try and get them out.. but if it's not tomorrow, it might be Friday.. or Monday the 30th when your box goes out. Then Media mail of 5 to 21 days to deliver.
Which wouldn't really be their fault. Just a happenstance of dates and holiday.

I usually get one or the other on my top two. I can't say always. I'm usually pretty careful about what I ask for so all the stuff is wanted. I'm actually a little worried. I don't think I put on my normal 'Please save the coloring books and art books and print packages for those that don't have three or four copies of each, as they'd better appreciate such things" on the write up like I normally do. So I might end up with even more copies of those. lol.
Hopefully mine will come in today. I don't wanna wait till after Christmas. It'll drive me nuts wondering what's in the box.

Well mine is getting sent out today. :-) The strange thing is my wish list didn't go thru so I got a call just as I got up. So in a sleepy haze I gave my wants even though it turned out to be mostly new stuff I didn't pick the first time. I really hope I get my first two picks.

My second one came in today. Just before Christmas, so I'm happy, I'm not sitting here for more days wondering what might be in the box. lol I received my #2 #3 #6 #8 #9 Requests. Adding it up $96 worth of product. The Palladium guys have been very generous this year. I even got one of the Kevin Dragon Postits.

I am not burned out on Palladium as I am in gaming in general. Not having a decent, cohesive, FRIENDLY group to game with in person, in several year has made it hard for me to feel the gaming mojo. I have tons of ideas, but no solid group to run them with. I have my forums - maelstrom.thedeificnmi.com, but PBP doesnt have the same vibe for me as face-to-face gaming.

Seems like every stupid little thing with a certain poster takes away my ability to care about Palladium. They don't seem to care on so many fronts. Why should I? Why waste time suggesting improvements and trying to find more players and grow the community when everyone I introduce has the same reaction to the way that asshole gets threads locked and doesn't get a warning or a ban when he directly uses peoples names to slander them. When he or people like him clearly get threads derailed and instead of it being noticed that we are loosing valuable discussions, it just keeps happening. I'm losing interest fast and am debating on whether I should waste my money on one last Grab Bag, or if I should save my money and invest in something that I feel more positive about.

Don't give someone (Anyone really) on a forums board the power to fuck up your day.
They're not worth it.They're just icons on a screen sometimes literally half a world away. The only power they have is the power you let them have. Someone being a jerk on the forums shouldn't have the power to ruin your hobby. If they aggravate you, just don't read their posts. I know it seems simplistic, but it really is that simple.

Really, it's more of the apathy we get from the company. I know exactly what Jorel is saying. It's the way long-term fans and supporters are treated by the company in response to our complaints.

Well, sadly, for some of us at least, it's not just based around that. He's more of the proverbial straw.
But, yes, his ability to speak freely while others aren't allowed to makes him the unofficial (but sanctioned!) voice of PB. And well, some of us don't support how he speaks. If his is the only opinion that's allowed to be free and vocal, then we don't matter. And since PB doesn't support US... why should we support them?

I hit the wall with Palladium after the whole NG fiasco. It sucks that I have a game company 10 minutes from my house that I can't stomach anymore. It's funny, you'd think Palladium would be popular around here. Nope...it's not even a blip on the radar. I may eventually try to run some Palladium stuff, but all the forum drama and idiotic ineptitude finally broke me. I know lurk enjoying watching the trainwreck that is Palladium books. Sad

Honestly, I have been using Pally as a framework for my own worlds and concepts for so long, I never get bored.
I could care less what they do, or do not, put out because I have not bought one of their new books in ages. I recently (as in, September 2013) bought Rifts: Canada and Rifts: Free Quebec simply because my group is getting involved in some stuff there soon so I thought I might check them out for maps, general ideas, and such.
I was not all that impressed by either.
It seems like Pally wants to put out books that do all the work for the players and GMs. They put out the plot, the characters, the ONE WAY it will go, here are all the vehicle and weapon stats, here are the new skills and rules, now GO!
This to me is not what gaming is about. I like to, collectively with my gaming group, create our own stories, adventures, and characters. I don't NEED all the stuff made for me.
When I wrote Hardware, one of Kevin's complaints to me was that there was not enough finished devices in it. He wanted, in a book made for your characters to create new vehicles, robots, and gadgets, for me to fill it with pre made vehicles, robots, and gadgets...as well as more pre made NPC Hardware Specialists.
This to me, exemplifies the current work at Pally. They would rather spoon feed the latest baffle em with BS type crap to people rather than create settings and work that inspires imagination. Compare a World Book to some of the old AD&D 2nd Ed books on realms.
You will see what I mean.

Yeah but... not trying to be rude here Writer'sblock. but in that... Kevin wasn't being 'Stupid'.
Gear/gun/toybooks sell like hotcakes. SOME people like working up their own gadgets. More people like having 100 gadgets to choose from. Generally I like 'gear/gun/toy' books less than books with fluff and setting and stuff, but I've been collecting and playing over 20 years.
In that aspect, kevin's not 'wrong'. Players/buiers, love love love books of guns and bots and power armor, and guns and more guns, spells and guns.
Deeper players might like rules to form their own gear, but many players just prefer to pick off the shelf. I mean there 'are' rules for Technowizard devices, but you see page after page after page listing off new technowizard weapons in any book that has magic in it.
You see this in most every RPG. Yeah you might get some rules for customization, but for every.. 10 pages of that you find, you'll find 20 BOOKS of gear/guns/spells/toys.
