It looks like dark heresy is soon to be replaced by a second edition. From what I know (which is little) it will still be compatible with the other game lines for the 40k universe. The new edition will also take place in a new setting and not the calixes sector. What do you all think about this?

Never had a chance to play in the other 40k RPGs yet... Not exactly high on my to play list. (Not fond of the 40k minis game... Except for necromunda.)

's likely to be just the usual Games Workshop product freshening... they'll tidy things up a bit, and update the fluff to be compliant with the current version of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, toss in a bunch of references to the Horus Heresy novels, Graham McNeill's Ultramarines books, maybe the latest Eisenhorn book, etc. If they're moving the setting to a different sector, it wouldn't surprise me if they decided to go with one of the much-storied ones from the novels like the Sabbat Worlds or the Scarus sector... the really well-developed ones collectively referred to internally as the "Daniverse". That way they don't have to do quite as much work.

It won't be any of the know sectors in 40k. This is a sector made up by the FFG writers. At one point the new game mechanics wer so different from the core ones that it created a negative backlash. So now the new book will be compatible with the other core books.

It's a shame though, using some of the Daniverse content would've made for one hell of a neat game, since that's about the only corner of the 40K setting that's been fleshed out past the basics of economy and government.
