Palladium Jedi
The bat family topic got me thinking on this
Now I know some will say Jedi are basically a master psychic cyber knight or mind melter or even a variation of the mystic knight. While those are certainly Jedi "like" they still don't quite do it proper justice in my opinion. The closest for me is the mystic knight of the three previous examples.
Why? The combination of magic psionics and combat training is the closest way to emulate the range of powers that Jedi have since some powers cannot be found as psionics.
That being said though not all powered need to be powered by ISP or ppe for that matter so in some ways they are also supers.
For this reason they really would have to be done all on their own to be done properly.
Unless of course you only want Jedi "like" ten by all means go with one of the aforementioned examples above.

The one from Psycape comes 'close'-ish.
Like most movie heroes though, you'd need to start at about lvl 9-10sh to look like a 'baseline' of ____ .

If you looked at the basic techniques that Jedi have, The Psi slinger has ALL the abilities of weaker Rebellion Era Jedi at level 1. If you mean KOTOR jedi, or Movie jedi that move starships with their minds or race rocket engines in an obstacle course, Neohuman fits the bill. A major problem of course, is that Psionic characters are hosed in the lift department, An Easy fix is to allow ISP pumping to multiply lifts like Cosmo knights.. for example, A Neohuman - with megakinesis, Amplifies it with another 100 isp to get another x 10 multiple... Or even make it a technique available to any psychic.
the real problem is Palladium Doesn't want psychics doing things we see them do in other movies, franchises. but those limitations are easily changed.

I always thought of a Jedi as just a mind melter class of psychic. Just add a few powers here or there. Get rid of psi-sword (they have lightsabers) as a weapon, but use it to enhance the lightsaber damage and parry.

Once you get into expanded universe Jedi there are many powers that don't get covered by psionics though which is why I'm going to do my own system based on psionics and magic.

And once you tap into expanded universe Sith, there's even more complications. Like Sith Alchemy

Wait.. did I just reveal which side I support? OOOOPPPSSS....
Honestly, I think in the grand scheme of things, the Sith are the good guys, and the Jedi the bad guys. Be honest, you know it's true

You might wanna see a doctor about that.
Now, back to the topic at hand....
Jaymz, what are your thoughts about things like Sith Alchemy, or Sith/Jedi holocrons?

I'd just custom make powers if what was needed was not already in existence.
I also like that many that can not tell the difference just call Sith and Jedi, Jedi.

I have not read but a few of the expanded universe. Some of them were ok, but then some just sort of annoyed me. I liked the Rogue Squadron books, but had little use for others int he series.
Which powers and abilities do they have now?

Lots and lots of powers. Especially if you read the Fate of the Jedi series where Luke and Ben are taking a tour of other force traditions and learning some of their stuff.

the sith didn't really have that much in powers then in nasty horrible weapons to kill jedi with.and by New powers, powers that aren't already available to psychics. Other then a few plot powers, (jedi ghosting, Sith Curses, ... are really the same power..)

I've still yet to see a jedi power that was over powered ..... Like when the Emperor force resurrects into an awaiting clone... a feat pulled by darth revan and numerous other sith in the KOTOR storyline. ... and nothing in the wikis seem to approximate people's claims that the jedi are all powerful... When not realizing the only thing going on is a Change of Scale which Palladium artificially keeps small. Hell, Star wars couldn't even agree on cosmology, every time Lucas changed it, he anulled a dozen books. (Normal star wars fans just accept that there are Multiple Universes, however)

Um no. He has not annulled a dozen books every time he has changed something.

It was hyperbole, but He did change enough things to anull Thrawn story arc. however, he ultimately decided to just keep that stuff in expanded universe.

And just how the hell did he Annul anything in the Thrawn arc? Oh that's right no he didn't in fact he got the name of Coruscant FROM that arc. In fact I recently reread this trilogy....there is nothing in it that has be nullified by anything in the movies or clone wars TV shows.

Yet. I think the Youzong War series made me go meh to the whole Expanded Universe and I just stuck with Dark Horse after that. But if it is worth the read let me know and I will give them a shot. I always value another fans perspective.

The Fate of the Jedi aren't bad. Takes a while to get where they're going but they're worth the read. Especially now that you can read them all in a row now and not have to wait a year between releases.

I'm actually quite happy with New Jedi Order thus far. I liked Dark Nest (the three books after the NJO series) and am looking forward to the Legacy of the Force Series. So many books.....so little money LOL
