Last week was kinda crazy and different. A lot of meetings and discussions, some unexpected. Even the event at Flat Land Games last Saturday involved meeting and chatting with people as well as doing demos. This week has been almost nothing but work. Our noses have been on the grindstone, writing and editing Chaos Earth® Resurrection and the Double Issue of The Rifter® and working and planning for more support of Robotech® RPG Tactics. And I mean long hours of work. That’s a good thing and we feel good about making progress on these books and some other fronts.
With the holidays quickly approaching, it is time for Palladium’s annual tradition of offering our Christmas Surprise Package. A Grab Bag of fun and gaming in which you never know exactly what you are getting, but most of it comes from the Wish List you send us and is always worth the price. This year is no exception.
*** First 2 sentenses. I fail to see the “different”.
Available now – 2015 Palladium Christmas Surprise Packages
Christmas Surprise Packages, or “Grab Bags,” are a long-running holiday tradition in which you can get several Palladium RPG titles worth $86-$95 (oftentimes more!) for ONLY $42 plus shipping and handling! It is our way to say thank you to our many fans for being so kind and patient, and for your years of support. You are appreciated more than you may realize. That’s why Santa Kevin personally handpicks each and every item for every Grab Bag, and reads every comment (returning a short comment whenever he can).
Happy Holidays from the Palladium crew. May they be filled with laughter, joy and gaming.
*** I love that Kevin hand picks them all. when does the publishing season stop?
*** Great value in USA, not so much elsewhere and out side of North America.
UPDATE: Chaos Earth® Resurrection™ – October or November release
Alex was given 87 pages to edit this week and I’m wrapping up the remaining 60 or so manuscript pages even as you read this. Chuck and other artists are finishing artwork. Wayne is likely to start typesetting early next week. Chaos Earth® Resurrection™ is a good one. Epic in scope, scary, dramatic and fun. And best of all, all the material can be ported over to Rifts® or anywhere in the Three Galaxies and beyond. I’m thinking we may drop a couple of sneak previews of Chaos Earth® Resurrection™. After speaking with our printer, this title may be an early November release.
*** I note that the number of pages edited in the last week before an October deadline, I also note the number remaining. It was apparent 3 weeks ago that October was slipping and 2 weeks ago it was unlikely. There was simply too much shit going on that needed Kevin and any number of other key people. And then a few distractions that got Kevin away from the type writer.
UPDATE! The Rifter® #71 & 72 Double Issue – 224 pages – Fall 2015
Even Julius and I are contributing to this issue. After speaking with our printer, this big Double Issue is definitely a November release.
*** Pfft his printer. I can imagine “can you print this in like, 3 or 4 days?” “um, no.” with R:CE and the Rifter double both needing his writing, I would be concerned they both delay each other till December.
UPDATE: Gaming event.
Flatland games event on October 10th.
We were pleased to join Flat Land Games’ special tabletop event to demo Robotech® RPG Tactics™ and chat with gamers. The store is impressive with a massive, open gaming area that has to be 2,000 square feet, plus a few private rooms that can be booked for games at the modest price of $10 for a full day of gaming (limited to store hours, of course). The private rooms are especially great for holding role-playing games in a quiet space.
Flat Land Games is carrying all Robotech® RPG Tactics™ products and has a small selection of core and new Palladium role-playing games. They are also happy tospecial order anything anyone might want. If there is interest, they’ll expand the selection of Palladium products. Of course, the Flat Land Games store carries the products of many, many other game companies with an emphasis on miniatures and tabletop games, but is building its role-playing game offerings and already has a decent selection (D&D, Pathfinder, Palladium, etc.). The owner, Lee, seems like a really good guy who cares about gaming and his customers. If you live in the area, check the place out: Flat Land Games, 28990 S. Wixom Road (right off the highway next to Meinike), Wixom, MI 48393

Get a jump on the holidays and game like mad
Is it too soon to start thinking about Christmas? Tradition has Palladium making its annual Christmas Surprise Package – with autographs and surprises – available by mid-October for the last 17 or 18 years, so I guess not. We love making the Christmas Grab Bags available to you. For many, it’s the only way to get autographs and it’s a fun way to wow your gaming friends with signed books at amazing savings, or try new settings, or complete your collection. It’s our pleasure to do it. Enjoy.
In the meanwhile, Santa Kevin and his Little Elves need to finish up a few book releases. Keep those imaginations burning bright and game on!

*** is it too soon? Tradition says no, apparently. Though I would have liked to have gotten 1 more Christian festival out of the way before but who am I to be effected by the saturation of Christmas marketing. Fa la la la la, la la la lah.
