PB seems to have more luck with collectable and merch than actual books.

I fear we will see more RAW books (in 250 book runs) just to keep income, actual product still has the same issue.

I don't think they have more luck with the teeshirts and mouse pads. You're talking about 5minutes of work. I've got mouse pads I've designed for my own use. Large ones too. I take the art I want. I put it into the box on the company website I'm ordering from. I move it about a bit to make sure it's how I want it then I punch in my information and order. It's not brain surgery.

They're acting like they moved the sun and moon and these things are just OMG!! It's a frigging mouse pad..... it's 2015... You can order any image you want on any sized mouse pad you want, for minimal cost.

I've not made one in a year or two but I can bet I could take the same image off the computer and put it on a mouse pad on Ebay and get it for cheeper than Palladium.

They're not reinventing the wheel here. Moust pads and teeshirts are nice kitchy/gimmicy things, but they're decades late.

perhaps I should clarify. Lucky = Lucky getting product to market.

for sure with the local printers, I can got my picture on 9.5 x 7.5 inch pads at Aus$15 each for runs under 5 units. that becomes $9.30 at 100 units and up.
I help do 1000 lanyards last month, had to to band, clips, stitching, the bosses expectation and get the logo signed off, all up including delivery was about $0.94 per unit.
not hard and we don't even print shit or sell merch for a living.

no, my comment was more along the lines that we may see peripheral and RAW products selling more because books still will not make it out regularly.
The value of these items (RAW) is only in the eye of the harder core fans, those keen on PB story or those that are fans of the writer more than PB, as a rare early work. an almost fad like marketing plan as RAW has it's best market at the top of popularity and either after or as a simultaneous release. but it still sold out, so they have enough fans to justify it for revenue.
