New weekly update...new weekly commentaries www.palladiumbooks.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=772:palladium-booksr-weekly-update-march-6-2015&catid=52:weekly-updates&Itemid=183"Hey folks, I’m going to keep this Update very short. In fact we may follow it with a more lengthy one over the weekend or early next week. " Why not just do it now? These always seem to to be short changed week after week because you are so busy.... "UPDATE: Bizantium and the Northern Islands™ – At the printer! Ships March 25, 2015" I am happy to say I was wrong and this will be out BEFORE April....even if just barely a week before. "UPDATE: The Rifter® #69 – in final production – Ships March 25, 2015" Ditto for this. "UPDATE: The Rifter® #70" Dude really? End of April? *sigh* please god i hope you hit this as it will just look bad otherwise.... "UPDATE: Chaos Earth® Rise of Magic™ – Available now" Ok we get it, this REPRINT is available again. It doesn't need a prominent spot in the weekly updates anymore. "UPDATE: Chaos Earth® Resurrection™ sourcebook – spring release" As I have said previously...Spring TECHNICALLY lasts until mid June... "UPDATE: Robotech®: Expeditionary Force Marines™ Sourcebook" Ok now he isn;t even speculating on when....which is good, usually, except this book keeps getting bumped by other titles.... "UPDATE: The Rifter® Super-Subscription Drive" I've repeatedly sad this was a good deal for those in the US. And it is. "UPDATE: Robotech® RPG Tactics™" .......nothing new more or less "UPDATE: ROBOTECH® at AdeptiCon – March 19-22, 2015, Chicago – www.adepticon.org" Good luck to those running the Tourny. "UPDATE: PenguiCon – April 24, 25 & 26, 2015 – Southfield, Michigan" Good luck and hope there is a good turn out "UPDATE: DriveThruRPG.com – Bizantium Sneak Preview coming this weekend – plus FREE Robotech® RPG Tactics™ color guides, detailed, additional comprehensive RRT building instructions, The Rifter® #60 and more are available now with more coming." Whoop. Eeee. "UPDATE: 2015 Palladium Open House " Barring Passport issues I'll be there Saturday. Passport is "being processed" "Listing “Fan Favorite Stores”" You do realize that by and large this does no one any REAL good as the person posting it is the only person likely close to that store? "That’s it for now . . ." There wasn't much to begin with for that to be it.... Until the next update....

frankly disappinted in this one. says nothing, is more advertising and only 2 points are really an update. Bizantium and the rifter sub.
UPDATE: Bizantium and the Northern Islands™ – At the printer! Ships March 25, 2015
*sarcasm* That's a big call. no, an Epic call to say it will be out in march considering it went to the printer this week. */sarcasm* this is how it should be. It's either comming, in editing, final production, printers, out. 6 options, pick one, no date months or season.
UPDATE: The Rifter® #69 DUDE!!!
UPDATE: The Rifter® #70 not caring, don't tell us till the prior one is out.
UPDATE: Chaos Earth® Rise of Magic™ – Available now UPDATE: Chaos Earth® Resurrection™ sourcebook – spring release UPDATE: Robotech®: Expeditionary Force Marines™ Sourcebook
don't care. if it's at the bottom in full, there is no need for an update. and linking to the books as if it has an ISBN does not mean anything as you have books with ISBNs that did not make it to a production stage.
UPDATE: The Rifter® Super-Subscription Drive Pleased it was a success, this is indeed a good and short update.
Con's and advertising. frankly I would have a permanent advertising page so that anyone could link direct to it and not this update. 7 days and you say you will do a second one. must have gotten inspired by this one to edit it into a whole new one over the weekend*
*unknown time period lasting from 1 day to 1 decade.

I no longer run or am a member of the Unofficial Fans of Palladium Books Group. I am now only running public groups for The Robotceh and Macross II RPGs. What happened? This crap seems to be about all anyone connected to the Robotech franchise is bringing to the table for the 30th Anniversary... "We're working on things, honest!" Harmony Gold's senior management should take advantage of the fact that the Robotech franchise has nothing of value or importance to show for the last FIVE YEARS of "development" and announce this is the year they're closing the franchise down for good. Thus far, the only thing that has come out of the 30th Anniversary tour and the anniversary itself is richly-deserved mockery from the Macross, Transformers, and BattleTech fandoms (and, to a lesser extent, Ace Combat fans). Considering the usual Robotech art assignments are "trace this line art, put in some hatching for shading, and call it a day", it should've taken them about a week to do everything they needed for the Marines book... not a year-plus.

yeah, but why not be a member and not post this on the unofficial.
Do the usual people that you invite to the update on the unofficial know to look for it here?

The last update commentary I posted reminded everyone that they are indeed posted here. Also The group had 4 weeks notice of my eminent departure.

So, I don't remember starting that thread that Kevin linked to about the stores, but the first two posts are definitely mine. Oh well. You'll probably start seeing more of me around here, as I am interested in reading your amusing takes on Kevin's crap.

It is what it is, thing will never change. But damnit it would be so easy to make things better. No not everyone would be happy but it would be better.

Yeppers, I totally agree with you. It would be easy to make things better. But before you can fix the problem, you have to be willing to admit that there is one. My opinion of Kevin after having followed his exploits over the past 25+ years is that he very rarely, if ever, believes that his way of doing things is wrong (or that he is ever wrong, period). And you know what, the old adage of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", in some unfathomable way, appears to be working for him. He's been in business for 30+ years, and the company is still around. So from his point of view, why should he bother changing things to make them better? He appears to be happy with the status quo, even if we aren't. LoL!

Except ten years ago he had to essentially ask for $100k from the fans to keep the damn doors open and from everything I've heard, read, and seen surrounding this CRISIS OF TREACHERY there is NO way it should have caused a possibility of the doors just closing and tells ME there were some serious cash flow issues in general at the time. What they were? Who knows. Divorce settlement proceedings? That is around the same time that finalized. Overextension on other things that never panned out? Maybe. Some books people didn't really want so didn't sell anywhere near what they expected. Quite possibly.

My understanding was that ultimately the money flow issues actually stemmed from a tax issue, as I seem to remember Kevin stating that he was unaware of anything wrong until the IRS showed up at Palladium's doors. Everything else was supposedly discovered after that. Now, what truly led to those tax issues, whether it was Steve's actions, the divorce, or something else, we'll most likely never truly know. But the thing is, many of the fans did indeed bail him out, and (totally my opinion) fed into his already over-sized ego, such that he really didn't feel like he needed to change anything, because no matter what, the company would survive. I personally didn't help out, because I had no interest in buying a print, or donating money to a for-profit company. I may love their game settings, but if Palladium had died 10 years ago, I would have mourned the passing of the company... and then I would have been looking forward to seeing who would pick up the pieces and hopefully start managing the properties in a professional manner, and give us better product moving forward. Just my two cents, though.
