Palladium Weekly Update Dec 11 2014

Ok...so another weekly update is upon us and I get the feeling I may have to be a bit more....critical my little palladiumites.

So those of you who hate the "haters and whiners" bugger off unless you want to engage in adult mature conversation about it.

"It is Grab Bag/Surprise Package frenzy time! As Christmas gets closer and closer with every passing day, orders for Christmas Surprise Packages are being placed in an increasing number at a steady pace. Awesome. Keep ‘em coming! "

"Spent much of Monday picking and signing books for Surprise Packages. I read every one and make the selections. How busy are we? At 4:30 PM on Monday I realized I had yet to take my coat off! Yikes. Jeff had a good laugh about that. We all spent a lot of time in the warehouse. "

Apparently doing more in regards to Xmas grab bags than backers for RRT that STILL do not have their rewards, even though they can buy it from a US store and have shipped and in their hands before you had even bothered to pack and ship their rewards to them. You know the remaining backers that contributed 100's of thousands of dollars for you to realize the dream of a miniatures game which not too long ago you said was not something wanted by your customer base....amazing what 1.4+ million can do to change someones mind.

Really? You mean like how every other year it ended then but then MIRACULOUSLY gets extended to mid-late January? Every year?

Yeah, Black Friday sales and Xmas season sales be damned, you went back on your word. You and your company are what your word is. I may like your games and your products by your word is fucking worthless. In an industry so driven by word of mouth....you are screwed. Do i care about you or word? Not overly. I DO care though that this crap will continue to curtail ANY good will or momentum you could have hoped to have had with RRT's release. I DO care because this crap is why I can't find players. I DO care because this will inevitably lead to less product that I like. You screwed the pooch on this one BIG time and frankly it's about damn to you, Kevin, man up and admit you fucked up. Go read your Facebook page. I see a good 4 or 5-1 ratio of pissed off people to ones who aren't. Go read your forums your mods are having to lock threads because people are pissed and don't give a damn about the rules there. Go read your KS comment section and you will see a BUNCH of venom directed at YOU and YOUR COMPANY. Catch the hell up with reality Kevin.

Likely March or April I say. This was supposed to be out already, months ago. RRT was not to be a problem for their their product. Boy did WE not know what WE were talking about when WE stated last YEAR that RRT WOULD cause issues....

Ok, so you have been SOOOOOO busy that you couldn't post a murmur? Ok that's fine....now explain why the KS site was getting no updates for weeks while you had no problem posting weekly updates for the company? And frankly that is bullshit that you had no time. YOU are the one that repeatedly said "We will communicate better and be more open with information". This is not something that is "when we have time" you MAKE time, but we already know how much your word is worth to your customers and backers.

I cannot believe Kevin is this blind to what is really going in the world with his backers. Seriously he needs to wake the hell up or he may very well wake up one morning with the surprise of his life that no one wants his product anymore. It's be sliding that way for 10 years already.

Somehow, I find myself more inclined to chalk that up to senility or absent-mindedness than hard work... possibly because hard work appears to be rather uncommon there, as is efficient work.  As bizarre as it may seem, I'm more offended by the blatant inefficiency and poor time management than the laziness.  An efficient worker can achieve a lot with very little effort.  An inefficient one can achieve a little with a lot of effort.  A lazy, inefficient worker achieves nothing.

Thanks to Kickstarter and thousands of gullible people, Robotech RPG Tactics can now stand as a shining example of how badly you fail if you add money and deceit to the already-toxic mixture of hubris, incompetence, and sloth.  If the universe had a better sense of humor, this botched project and all the alleged fiscal and managerial improprieties that go with it would turn out to be Kevin's warmup before an attempt to run for Congress on the Republican ticket.

You mean the people whose money he already has, and has likely already spent?

Somehow, I suspect there's going to be hell to pay on April 15th, 2015... and I don't just mean that American tax laws were penned by The Great Enemy.

Of course, now that Kevin already has (and has likely already spent) the backer money, why would he feel any urgency in getting all the promised product out the door when he could be focusing on his next immediate source of revenue?  Pattern recognition skills could have saved the backers a lot of grief if they'd only realized the likelihood that the probability of getting screwed over and lied to was virtually 100%.

Y'know what?  I asked my local store about their intention to carry this game.  I was treated to maybe a minute of hysterical laughter, followed by several inquiries as to whether I had suffered a severe blow to the head.  Apparently, opinion of the game's prospects has NOT improved following release.

I hope the short-term returns were worth it for Palladium, because this game's long-term prospects are somewhere between "Hell will freeze first" and "We don't live in Bizarro world".  The discontent has passed being the elephant in the room... Kevin is now trying very hard to ignore the blue whale in the room.
