This is something I've been looking to do for a while now.
I've already sort of started with the writing up up of various military vehicles and aircraft. I plan to do an extensive list of firearms and weapons as well.
With that in mind what are some sites I could use for the research.
Wiki obviously and I have a number of reference books on my shelves as well. I will also be mining the various Palladium "modern era" games for whatever is there for a baseline on the SDC and AR of vehicles and such along with a baseline for weapon damages.
With winter coming and my usual extra time on my hands, I'd like to maybe get into this project and hopefully get a relatively complete version done by spring.
how about it?
ADD - This will also dovetail into my aim to do a Ninjas and Superspies 2.0 as well and would be very useful for HU and all the other games.

I also want to do a "civilian" version of the above.

Well, some simple statements, if you're talking CURRENT items... US Military Pistol: Beretta M9. Just about the only pistol in use by the military
Rifles: M4, M16A2 (yes, there are some out there still). Essentially the same weapon, but the M4 is compressed down a bit, and has a collapsible stock. Sniper Rifles: Barrett M107, the M110 (not a barrett)... there are a few others, but they're holdovers being phased out. Automatic Weapons: M249 SAW, M240 (several varients), M2 (the glory of the M2 will never fade!), and the MK19 (automatic grenade launcher)
Under-rifle: M203, M302
Once you start getting into weapons that are integrated onto the vehicles, there's a lot more...

Awesome.
I have some real world vehicles and aircraft done up at the moment already. I'll work those in as well.

I always thought the best way to do it would be country supplements.
1. Weapons of the US Military 2. Weapons of the Canadian Military
etc
IIRC some rather common firearms like the M249 SAW are not in the now dated Compendium of Modern Weapons.
