Greetings and Salutations. The host of these forum and the podcast mentioned, Jaymz LaFlamme, posted this over on the The Un-Official Fans of Palladium Books page ( www.facebook.com/PalladiumBooks#!/groups/109218555808079/ ). To help him out, I've decided to post this here.
Though the original topic is discussing ideas for future shows (and whether or not it should continue), if the show does continue I figured this could be a good spot for general discussions as well (saving the thread in the News and Announcements page to remain for news/updates/announcements, while this remaining a more "General" chat regarding the show. If Jaymz feels this thread should be relocated, or would like to start his own official thread, then I'd of course respect his wishes on the matter.

Greetings and Salutations. Responding to this topic from over on the FotM ( palladium-megaverse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=144670 ), I wanted to offer my help. Creating a video file (especially if just using a static image) shouldn't be too hard. In fact, I think it would take more time for me to dowload the audio files from the site and search for a static image.
Windows has Movie Maker (I personally prefer the older version, but the newer one can probably work too). Insert picture. Insert audio. Sit back while computer makes the movie. Once it's set up (and you know what you're doing), we're talking maybe like 5 minutes of work (and I think that might be pushing it). If you'd like, I'd be willing to do it for you. Find a stock photo you want to use, and I'll just dl the audio from Talkshoe then post it up on YouTube (creating an account, or can let you do that if you'd like so you have control over it). I would not really be doing anything complicated to it, just making the video and posting it for you. As such, your call. I just wanted to offer, if that's something you are indeed interested in.
Note: I'll be posting more thoughts on show ideas in a bit (dinner time though).

Podcast ideas:
You've done some topics regarding Character Creation and Combat, so with that theme I offer ...
1: Magic. Part of this is inspired by this thread over on the FotM (http://palladium-megaverse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=144693 ), but that was really just a jumping off point for me. Is magic users being able to use full armor and weapons a flaw or feature? Weak or overpowered? Some of your thoughts and some common misconceptions. Help someone who might come from say D&D to understand the idea of a Palladium mage.
2: Psionics. Not much different than the magic one above, just addressing it separately. Weak or overpowered? Some say magic is weak and psionics are overpowered, while others say psionics are weak and magic is overpowered. Your thoughts? Is this a category that's way under utilized by Palladium (they often have no magic supplements, but little in the way of psionics), do you think they should do more or have they already done what can be done? ((Note: I doubt the latter, but I'm just talking to try and snowball ideas.))
3: M.D.C. This is a topic addressing mostly Rifts, but also Robotech and Splicers. There's some debate if it's a good thing, bad thing, or needs adjustment. Even though there have been topics in RGMG and such addressing it, this remains a hotly discussed topic. What are your thoughts? Do you have suggestions/advice to help a G.M. (or player for that matter) struggling with how to handle it?
4: Walkthroughs. You had a show discussing Character Creation and one discussing Combat, how about a show that does a sample of each (or one show that does one and another show that does the other). I don't recommend this fresh off the other two shows just finishing, but something to consider for the future. And when I say "walkthrough" I mean you literally make a character there on the air (you can even roll love on the show). Same with combat. With combat, I'd recommend a variety of situations to really help someone get that feel of it.
5: Conversions. Officially this is a big no-no with Palladium, but we know people do it (you being amongst them). You can touch on the topic, but also describe your process of how you go about it. This is more of a "Creation Guide" than a conversion guide, but as your specialty seems to be conversions I went with that. ((Note: As this is officially against PB policy, not sure if you'd be able to post a link to this over on their forums.))
6: Specialty game lines. This would be a show dedicated to a specific line, such as 1 for Rifts, 1 for PF, 1 for Dead Reign, etc. You don't have to be an expert, but at least know the basics of the topic. Discuss the overall concept, what you think (or heard, though tend to avoid hearsay) is good and bad, what sourcebooks the series has, what sets this game line out from the rest of the Megaverse, etc.
7: Book reviews. I'd say focusing mostly on recently released products, but this could also address main books (tying back into #6?), or even just popular books (really good or really bad). Maybe books often underrated or easily forgotten, but really good (in your mind, and tell us why). Or instead of entire books focus on a series (such as SoT or the Minion Wars).
Okay, think that should get things started. I might've had more/different ideas earlier, but right now I'm blanking. Those are just a few off the top of my head. I might come up with more later. Hope that helps. Farewell and safe journeys for now.

Here are a few considerations:
- There is a lot in the Rifts Conversion book talking about crossover stuff. I think there is TONS of stuff in those discussions that could provide material.
- Talk about some of the unsupported (Splicers, BtS, etc etc games that are good games but do not have the word of mouth of ones like Rifts.
-You could do a whole cast or more on the pros and cons of in book versus home brew world building.
- Pros and cons, needs and wants, of house rules.
- I always thought I should do some discussion of the real life comparisons like I did in Hardware. That could be interesting. Stats (and their meaning both physically and in terms of real life capacities....normal people with a 30 PS are generally not 5' tall and 95lbs), education (I always find that one funny; did that with my gaming group once and we found some interesting results when we did) vehicles and weapons,etc...
-I always like the ones where you point out stuff:
Some ones like the legality of wearing a mask in a HU world, stuff like.
Pointing out what a person wandering around with high stats is like...PS 30 without powers does not buy off the rack shirts....a PB of 30 is interesting (I had a player with PB 27 ask why all the female NPCs...and some male...kept flirting or overtly hitting on him. I pointed out he is 6'2, made of muscle, has an MA 23, and the most beautiful thing any of them have ever seen...human max being 24 and all).
- A thing on NPC generation could be interesting; the feature NPC versus generic, the VILLAIN versus a bad guy...things to round them out and give them dimension, that sort of stuff.
- A more in depth discussion of alignment, its uses, its factors in play. The ways it guides, and is determined, by goals and objectives. Sticking to it, as a GM using it to force hard decisions and enable role play moments, etc etc.
That is just a couple thoughts.

- Supplemental sources: use of TV shows, movies, novels, other games, etc as inspiration (both players and GM).
- Use of minis, props, sound tracks, maps, etc etc.
- Play styles (roll play versus role play, hack and slash versus interaction, etc). GM styles (some are good at combat, some role play; some at horror, some comic book heroes).
- Talk about converting non-book real life stuff into game stats (I know you love conversions). Pointers for doing so, suggestions, etc. Pointers for how GMs can deal with players wanting to do this for their characters and such...
- Something about using NPCs in a PC group...you know, like when the hero group is 5 people and only 3 are PCs....keeping them balanced, making them PC worthy but not a PC, etc...
