say in regards to these then don't read. They are my comments after all.
That being said, here we go

"though Matthew Clements, Alex and I only took the 4th off, and spent the rest of the weekend working away on Megaverse® in Flames™ and The Rifter® #67. Speaking of which, I sure hope none of you think we are looking for sympathy when I talk about working through weekends and putting in long hours. I talk about long hours and working through the weekends so that you know we are not resting on our laurels, but working hard at producing the products you want."
Ok, so you aren't looking for sympathy yet posting that you work through weekends invariably comes across as martyring yourself. I can honestly say I really do not recall anyone ever saying you guys are just sitting around all day doing nothing so telling us you work so hard is pointless. Stop.
What I HAVE heard many many MANY times over the years is that you guys have extremely piss poor time management skills
"A lot of people seem to think writing (and art and editing, for that matter) comes fast and easy, like rolling off a printer. We wish. Some days you bang out 20-30 pages in that 12-16 hour day. Other times, it’s 5 or 6 pages in the same amount of time. "
I never thought that. I do think trying to tell me writing STAT blocks take that kind of time. Id o stat blocks al the time and by and large the vast majority of people who see or use them find them to be very balanced for what they are. I do them practically in my sleep to the point I got known as the stats guy. Fluff text can take time but honestly, 6 MONTHS to get a book :"edited"? That isn't quick or slow. That is a snails pace by most writers standards. I know several that just shake their head at this when I pass it along to them.
"I get the impression there are some folks who think I sit around on my throne made of hundred dollar bills, sipping a martini while the guys stand around playing games and we all laugh about how it and books are late."
Nope. Most of us are pissed you keep mismanaging the timelines and have very piss poor PR over it.
"And here’s the thing, they ALL work above and beyond the call of duty. "
Ok again praising your guys is good for morale. Telling us how hard they work again comes across as martyring yourselves regardless of is that is your intention or not. Stop it.
"But it is not for lack of hard work and commitment."
And I, as well as most others, have never thought it was.
In the end he blathers on about how hard they work and how awesome everyone is. None of which was in dispute to begin with. What has been repeatedly pointed is that their PR skills, time management skills, and business decisions by and large suck ass more often than not.

Good god how I wish I was wrong when I predicted this shit show of a piss poor PR move back in March.... I really do wish I was wrong.....
Books.....again you have until the end of next week to get books done if you expect them to actually be done in time to have them for Gencon or otherwise. Looks like the only thing right now that will likely be done is the Rifter and not an actual book.
He better hope the "surprise book" really IS something people will be happy about. I find it interesting that he says this
"Some of you will love the surprise, some of you won’t care. It did not take much of our time and we think it’s fun."
So he flat out says some won;t care for it and it didn't take much of their time yet it DID take some of their time. Time which they manage VERY poorly as it is, yet felt the need to do a "surprise" that some people won't even care about.....awesome work as usual...oye.
see you next time
