It's funny a few of those went right to me thinking "Mad man Mike". The same pb super fan who said he wanted to kill me openly on the forums. He didn't say it jokingly either he meant it. Yet he is still aroun claiming he knows info nobody else has, no wonder him and Liam get along so well imagnery worlds collade. This sort of thing pisses me off. I once (Admittedly a long time ago) Got a warning for saying I wanted terrorists and rapists killed. Hypothetical Terrorists and Rapists. Not even specific ones. Mike does seem to enjoy some sort of protected status. I'm not sure as to if it's due to his friendship with someone there or his claims to have autism and Palladium not wanting to touch that with a 10 foot poll. Still, either way he does seem to get away with alot. *Shrugs* I just stay away from him. Dude's radioactive. Interacting with him will only get YOU in trouble, so I don't do it.

That's bull that NF was banned. It was the other guy who started the fight. I don't know any of these people, but that was a dick move by the mods. I figure MMM reported NF and got him banned. Just before NMI locked another thread were he conveniently tells two posters off but won't let them reply. Another douch. palladium-megaverse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=143628&p=2794800#p2794800from what I understand MMM has personality problems (self admitted). If true to bad. Liam doesn't have that excuse. He's just a douch.

It was probably set up on one of the closed boards.

Well, you'll know the place has gone completely to pot when the moderators become apologists for the company and then start locking the threads they post in immediately after posting an obvious lie... Harmony Gold's moderators are old hands at that.

What was the obvious lie?

What was the obvious lie? They haven't done it yet, AFAIK... I was just pointing out that the last and worst warning sign on that trajectory of the mods defending the company's apologists even when they break the rules worse than the alleged offenders is the mods themselves becoming the apologists and lock threads where no violations have occurred just so they can have the last word.

No need to worry about Nightfactory anymore. The PB Gestapo brought down the ban hammer on him pretty harshly (and unjustly, depending on who you ask). Things that I've concluded from reading the thread that got NF banned (and some others that were recently locked up tighter than Alcatraz): 1) Critisism of PB is BAD! Constructive or not, if you criticize, you're evil! 2) PB staffers and defenders/white knights DO NOT require facts to back up their arguments. 3) if you work for PB in anyway, you're protected from any and all rule violation repercussions. 4) if you pay off a mod, you're protected as well. (And openly defended no less) gotta say #1 is wrong... I fire off criticisms fairly regularly... no ban. as to #2... the same can be said for certain critics as well. #3 BS. MMM has as many if not more bans than the critics. (Liam is slowly catching up with him now.) #4? it does look that way... (But apparently it can only protect you for so long)

Well that is the nature of payoffs/bribes. They tend to degrade over time, requiring a new payoff or bribe to maintain their effectivness. They tend to grow as well. What may have taken $200 this time may take $300 next. etc.

gotta say #1 is wrong... I fire off criticisms fairly regularly... no ban. Yeah, these days I'm firing off criticisms pretty much constantly... both of Palladium and Palladium's partners, and they haven't even tried taking me to task for it. Not sure if they just don't have a fuck to give, or if it's the way I tend to put it in terms of "X company is exhibiting Y bad business practice that is having Z effect on the customer base". as to #2... the same can be said for certain critics as well. #3 BS. MMM has as many if not more bans than the critics. (Liam is slowly catching up with him now.) #4? it does look that way... (But apparently it can only protect you for so long) MadManMike kind of reminds me of a Robotech.com poster who went by the handle of MGREXX. He's a suckup and a complete prat, but he's a boomerang who gets banned for his vehement jackassery as often as the people who snap at him do. At one point, I think MGREXX actually held the record for the most bans on Robotech.com, before the management started making bans permanent.

I think it has more to do with how the criticisms are couched than the subject of them. It is possible to express dissatisfaction without becoming a dick about it.

I am shocked to read this.
The official Pally Forums are being run by dick taters that let pro-Pally people run wild while smiting people with even a minor beef?
That sort of thing would rile me so bad...I don't know what I'd do....especially if it got so bad that it had been that way for over a decade or more....
I'd probably...oh...leave the forums and never come back. Maybe go to another forum where you could voice your opinion, for or against, without suffering the slings and arrows of the Cult of Kevin.
Yeah, that's what I'd do, rather than complain constantly....
WAIT A SEC!
That IS what I did...and recommend you do it too.

I am on a few forums and that one has some real friends who only frequent there. For the most part I tend to pop up sporadically.

I am shocked to read this. The official Pally Forums are being run by dick taters that let pro-Pally people run wild while smiting people with even a minor beef? No. They're run by human beings who occasionally exhibit bias, like every other human being on the planet. You'll know that Palladium Books has started banning its critics for the sheer pleasure of doing so when I get canned... because I am not a nice man, and I take perverse pleasure in being blunt and direct when I tell someone they've fucked up royally. Needless to say, I've been doing so frequently and have even told Kevin that he's a dishonest little snot in a thread he started. I have yet to even receive a warning, let alone a ban. The closest I've come to having an interaction with a moderator over anything I've said was when Colonel Wolfe started whining like a bitch about how everyone in the Kickstarter thread was speaking critically of the Kickstarter, and that it might be hurting the Kickstarter. Thread got locked, but not s'much as a peep from the mods about me or anyone else voicing our disgust with the obvious and hilariously implicit admission that Robotech is such a failure even Harmony Gold won't fund it anymore. That's pretty much getting away with murder right there, since the Robotech license is one of the few things keeping Palladium Books from ending up in the red and going under. As long as you do so dispassionately and don't let yourself get drawn into name-calling by Palladium volunteer apologists, you're golden. They're not out to get you, they just don't want the boards to turn into an Adam Sandler movie. Now... when the Kickstarter fails, and it almost certainly WILL fail, I might get in a little trouble for crowing about it. It's hard to say "Good riddance, you miserable piece of obstructive shit, I can hardly wait to see McKeever escorted out of the building by security" in a nice, family-friendly way. I'd probably...oh...leave the forums and never come back. Maybe go to another forum where you could voice your opinion, for or against, without suffering the slings and arrows of the Cult of Kevin. Yeah, that's what I'd do, rather than complain constantly.... Pfft... very few people actually leave forums and not come back. They'll say they're leaving, but they still poke their heads in and peek at what's going on. Hell, where Robotech-related forums are concerned, it's almost impossible to take it seriously. After RTSC came out, the number of people who said "I'm done with this" was huge... and they all came back. Then they all got banned for calling a spade a spade, when Maverick_LSC and MEMO1DOMINION decided anyone who said Robotech: the Shadow Chronicles might as well have been given a title more like Plan 9 from Harmony Gold was personally saying Tommy was a person-shaped sack of dogshit. Since Palladium hasn't yet reached the cultish "Speaking critically of anything is the same as threatening Kevin" stage yet, and doesn't look like it's likely to anytime in the foreseeable future, I doubt anyone who "left" would truly stay away.

I have had some bad interactions with mods, and we shall leave it at that. As a wise man once said no need to drag up the past.

Well Mike, you know of ONE more person who has left and not come back...ME.
I used to occasionally pop back when I would get informed by people still there that someone had a question about my book. Don't even do that now.
In fact, I barely even go there to look when people create links to threads.
I left over a decade ago. Been back maybe five times since then...
