Hey man, we're all grownups here... go nuts. Seriously though, I can totally see why. He opens by bitching about the weather again, as though Michigan weather's unpredictability was a new development instead of a trend that's lasted for the hundred-plus years we've been tracking it. Losing power frequently is at least some kind of legitimate interruption to work... we've had nine outages at my office in two days thanks to the high winds. The first thought that occurs to me is that Kevin clearly hasn't realized that he's his own worst enemy period... it's not JUST Northern Gun in which that's true. I do like that he's trying to blame the crowdsourcing of the book for its delays though. It's not HIS fault, it's all you guys who supported it because he felt OBLIGATED to give 110% but on his own loose schedule.

Living in the north, there's a running joke about the weather.
"Don't like the weather here? Wait 5 minutes."

Don't look at it as him blaming the crowd sourcing. He is acknowledging that he has trouble sticking to his plans. Really when he gets these awesome ideas he needs to just collect them and make a new book with them not add them to an existing project.

Nah, if Kevin put all those "awesome" ideas into a new book it would end up being a year late like everything else and would delay the book he's currently working on as he starts writing ANOTHER book.

Sounds like he is making excuses for the delay though.

Well he kinda had to say something. Last weeks murmers indicated that the book would be going to the printer yesterday. That... didn't happen.
If anyone's keeping track, yesterday would have been the last day to try and get the book out this month. Sadly I think once he saw that it was a lost call to make this month, the 'pressure' was off. Thus... the slow down. Kevin knows it can't make April, so... first week of may.. second.. third... fourth week of May is still a "May Release".
