Are you going to buy it when it comes out?
I would like to. When I played it at the FLGS back where I used to live I had a lot of fun playing it. Now I don't know all of the rules but glanced at the playtest a few times and nothing seemed to be off putting. I liked the advantage and disadvantage system of it. The game felt familiar but it could have been the DM for it. Either way I am looking forward to the release of NEXT.

tell us more about it, go on, go on. I will have to re-read it and share some thoughts on it. I only played in about 8 games and so I didn't need to know too many of the rules and they changed them a little with each play test anyways. |

Honestly, I didn't like way too much of what they did with the D20 conversion.
I will stick to the good old pre WOTC AD&D 2nd Ed, with some house rules scattered in, rather than getting involved in yet another variant.
AD&D went HOW long without a major revamp? Since D20, they have gone through how many revisions, in how many years?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it is, accept you might have made a mistake.

Now that the pricing and release dates are out I am starting to get excited about it. Here is a link with the information majorspoilers.com/2014/05/19/release-schedule-dd-next5e-announced/I must say I am looking forward to the Beginner Box, Players Hand Book, Monster Manual, and DM Guide. Not sure about the adventures. Also the miniature lines I am excited about too. Love the Pathfinder Miniatures by Wiz Kids. If the game is as good as the play test was in my opinion then I will be pretty happy. |
