March 6 2014 update

Sorry, out sick, so this one will be short. Hopefully, I’ll be back up and working by the middle of next week. The guys are keeping things moving along. My thanks to the strong support you guys and gals showed for the The Rifter® Super-Subscription Deal that ended last weekend. I think we are at near record number of subscribers this year. Cool. I will be back working on Rifts® Northern Gun™ Two and other projects as soon as I am back on my feet. Here’s a bit of what’s going on.


UPDATE: Rifts® Northern Gun™ Two

Wow is this book epic. Wayne Smith, Chuck Walton, Alex Marciniszyn and I were working on Saturday till midnight. The excitement is high and Wayne has already begun to layout the first half of the book. In fact you can get a sneak preview of it on DriveThruRPG.com right now. Free, of course.

With me knocked out, finishing the last part of the book has been stalled. Sorry. I’ll be back to it as soon as I can.

At the printer and scheduled for an April release. Meanwhile, pre-orders for Palladium Fantasy, 2nd Edition HC continue to come in faster than they did for Heroes Unlimited™. I’m glad I decided to print a few more copies (450, the same as its catalog number). I decided it wasn’t fair to leave out Palladium Fantasy®, so we are printing 450 copies of the 30th Anniversary Palladium Fantasy RPG®, 2nd Edition hardcovers as an April release. It’s not forgotten. Still looking at a spring release. And it will be epic.



UPDATE: Robotech® RPG Tactics™

Jeff has finished up the color guide artwork and is going over box corrections, Wayne is about to start laying out the color guide, and we’re all eagerly awaiting the arrival of some new prototype pieces. We’re getting there.

Sorry this is a such a short Weekly Update. Need to go back to sleep and recovery. I’ll try to do more next week. Have a good weekend. I’ll spend it recovering, I promise. Meanwhile, keep those imaginations burning bright and game on.

***As soon as he said other people were getting sick, we knew this was coming. Either the people who work at PB have some form of immuno-deficiency, or the area is filled with so many various virus and bacteria that the CDC should set up shop there. Seriously, how many sick days does everyone there TAKE?!

***Wait... you haven't even started on it? Artwork is assigned, but editing has begun? So, what if things get cut out? Or get added in? Shouldn't editing be done BEFORE artwork? How long has this manuscript been in? MONTHS?!

***How about while you're laid up in bed, "recovering", get some work done? Since you're somewhat limited in where you can go or what you can do, maybe take advantage of that time, and do some of the work you're four years behind on?

Not trying to pile on or anything, but you missed the "I'm sick on thrusday. I'll be back some time around the middle of next week"!!!!! Part. As in "Do fucking what?" It's nice to be the boss and all but I don't think I've ever been so sick with a cold on thrusday that I knew I'd be out for another 5 or 6 days, minimum. What's he got? Ebola??

All I know I have been saying since NG1 came out that we wouldn't see NG2 before April (that was last November?) but was told by several "oh no no no it won't take long now to get it done once he gets the Grab Bags cleared off his plate".

I understand why some defend him and his statements, but there are times it is better to not say anything than tell people who have been right about things like this for years now that they are STILL wrong when making the statements they make. Especially when it gets shown they were right all along.

And all of the above are perfect examples of why I really think that we only have a few more years before it's "Hey, who remembers Palladium Books?" the way we do with "Who remembers WEG D6 games?"

... y'know, in a way, that makes them Harmony Gold's ideal business partner.  After all, the most common reply to "who remembers Robotech?" is "What, the pool cleaner?"
