The Batmobile & Bat Family Vehicles

Ok. We've been over how to get from A to Zed on making a caped crusader. Batman himself remains a biggie and unable to be reproduced with RAW.

Now I've a couple of questions for folks. I used to collect comics, I was more a Marvel guy than a DC guy but I've got some general Batman knowledge. My questions to you guys, many of whom have significantly more Batman knowledge...

1) Do other members of the Bat Family have their own Specialty Vehicles?
2) If so, what are they, and their general Abilities/gadgets?
And lastly,
3) What abilities/gadgets would you guys consider the 'quintessential' Batmobile? (I know there's dozens of different Batmobiles, but I'm asking if you were to sit down and list out the Quintessential one, what would you give her?)

1.  Yes.  Robin had a motorcycle in all male versions (not sure on Stephanie Brown), while Tim Drake had the Red Bird (car).  Babs had/has a motorcycle (and a wheelchair)
2.  I do not recall the motorcycles having much in the way of gadgets, they seemed more in line with get me to point b from point a.  However, that being said I can only imagine that they have some sort of resistance to small arms fire, GPS, computer linkup to the bat-computer.  The Red Bird was more state of the art and if I am not mistaken had morphing abilities to camouflage it (would have to look at images to see the 2 morphs).  Annnnnnnnnddddddddddddddd, just for kicks and a little bit of giggles he also, while in boarding school, had a skateboard called (wait for it) the redboard.
3.  Bulletproof, link up to batcomputer, HUD, grappling/winch, supercharged engine, off-road capabilities, communications array, EMP device, smoke/chaffe dispensor, iron ball RADAR absorbent paint, radar/laser detector, etc.  I need to think about this one.

Yes. Nightwing, Batgirl (all three versions), Huntress, Robin (all versions), and I believe even Spoiler did. I am pretty sure Oracle does too.

2) If so, what are they, and their general Abilities/gadgets?

I recommend you find a copy of "The Essential Batman Encyclopedia" and "Batman: The Ultimate Guide to the Dark Knight" for that sort of stuff. An essay could be written to give you a decent answer.

This is especially true of the Robins, who often had their own vehicles, in addition to Robin Variants (diff color schemes etc) of the standard Bat Vehicles.

And lastly,
3) What abilities/gadgets would you guys consider the 'quintessential' Batmobile? (I know there's dozens of different Batmobiles, but I'm asking if you were to sit down and list out the Quintessential one, what would you give her?)

Armor
Shielding (radar, radiation, etc) out the yin-yang.
Speed to Spare
Run Flats
Fuel Mod (usage, type, whatever)
Bat Computer/Bat Cave Link
Mini Lab
Crowd Control Devices
Major Anti Theft Deterrents (non-lethal)
Powerful Multi Directional Lights
Comms and Sensors out the Wazoo
Secret Compartments all over it.
Remote Control
Safety Systems Extraordinaire (ejector seats, deployable crash foam, integral extinguishers, etc.

I've been looking at this www.amazon.com/dp/0756692490/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=10CH43PBIU93F&coliid=I3LHWKKDTQKQ96 For a few days. Would you recommend the books above over it? I saw the encyclopedia, but it looked like..well, an actual Encyclopedia and maybe not as immersive or covering the bigger swaths.

The encyclopedia is AWESOME if you are looking to run a game with the Batman world as part of it. It is an alphabetized listing of all things Batman.

The one you are looking at is a not bad source as well (I have it) and more along the Ultimate Guide than the Encyclopedia is.
