What changes have you made to the setting? I have added a race that plagues the space Oni from the shadows. Crippling their ships, to indepent military operations and freak spuratic political assassinations. The TGE and CCW are at the moment in a massive Cold War stand off with the UWW slightly pushing for a hot war between the two. The minion war has yet to spill into full blown war both sides are still staging.

My changes largely involve stats....yes I know how shocking that may be...ok maybe not. Otherwise...I leave it more or less as is.

Considering to me Phaseworld is sort of a poor mans Star Wars....yeah my changes are largely mechanical not setting. IE increasing the speed of FTL because what is in the game is stupidly slow and would never properly allow for a multigalactic nation to exist.

I see space travel in phase world as ship travel in the 16th centuries getting from on galaxy to the next takes weeks on end with out stops add stops in and it might take months. It could allow for it. In Star Wars travel is more like days so it is more like early 20th air travel.

eh maybe. but you are talking more like years from one galaxy to the others....it just makes even any war rather localized cold or hot.

oh i just increase by a fact or 10. 60 light years per hours instead of 6. About 1/5 that of standard travel in star wars give or take.
still gives it the 16th century ship travel versus modern day cruise trip (5-6 weeks versus 1)

I didn't make many changes for game play...I adapted the TGE/CCW storyline of the Thundercloud galaxy based on the fact that so much of the galaxy remains unknown. I created a few entertaining races to liven things up, but didn't mod anything except travel times. I set standard periods for how long it'd take to get to point B from point A, whether they'd have to pop out of FTL to make adjustments to their routes (depending on distance between planets/stations), etc. Any transit-related combat occurred before or after the ship came out of FTL, or during those changeovers. A bit predictable, but the main story arc depended on interactions on the station and planetside.
The space stations worked up surprisingly well, given some of the Naruni tech in the setting. XD
