Ok. I've got the Shadow Chronicles, Macross, and Masters RPG's in the *TWITCH* Manga size. I got them as they came out, because I tend to pick up every Palladium book as it comes out. I've not PLAYED Robotech in over a decade. I'm about to start now, and the same complaints I had when they came out in Manga size are really really hitting home now.
Namely that making a character via the manga sized book sucks sour frog ass!! They don't stay open and you have to lay something across the pages and even then they'll still snap shut unless you get the weight just right, or you break the spine, something I do not want to do... It's not just a pain, it's past a pain. Trying to make a character with these things is absurd.
I know that Palladium, after it got past the "THIS IS THE BEST THING EVAH!!!!" backed down and made at least one in 'normal' rpg size. 8 by 11.
I haven't followed that closely. Did they re-do all three manga's in the 8X11 size or just one, or some?
If so, which ones were redone in normal size? When I wasn't using them, it was a cute novelty. Now that I'm trying to use them, these little things are driving me up the bloody wall.

TSC Deluxe, Macross was done full size when it got reprinted, New Gen and Genesis pits.
My assumption is that from now on the TSC Deluxe will be the main book in place of the manga one.
Masters at the moment is the only book still actively available in manga format and once that sells out it will reprinted in full size.

I did not pick up the manga ones, and the exact complaint (ability to actually use them) was one of the suspicions I had that kept me away from them.

When I ran a RT:SC game here locally all I had was the 8.5x11 "special edition." But one of my players did pick up the manga edition. Character Creation with the manga was indeed a pain but it was handy for quick reference. (not much else though).
