Well they haven't 'produced' for Palladium Fantasy in years, and to be honest, Pathfinder and D&D do it better. They did do 4 Rifter covers and a number of Rifter Articles.
If anything the Hardcover for HU may be in response to so many people (That don't play or buy Palladium Fantasy anyway) bitching that they didn't do anything for Fantasy. So they're doing this.
There were a number of "Yes" responses. They just didn't write paragraphs bitching about what 'else' they wanted so they're easy to get lost in the shuffle.
Thing is, it's not like it's going to hurt anyone. OKing one Hard cover and sending the file to the printer isn't going to push back the lol.... normal Release scheulde. It'll be an 'addon' for those that want it.

Problem is not everyone gets Rifters and some in fact refuse to buy them. This is bullshit when you have THE game that started the company get relegated to the Rifter and HU (and the argument that other games do fantasy batter doesn't hold either since there are other games that do Heroes much better as well) get a full blow anniversary hardcover? I'm not even a big fan of fantasy and I still call bullshit on that.

*shrugs* Eh... Hard to say. To be honest I think people like complaining. You see some token requests for Palladium Fantasy but most people that want it DO just play Pathfinder or D&D. Fantasy hasn't been supported in years. It's pretty much dead and Palladium just hasn't put the toe tag on it.
Heroes at least has put out a book in the past couple of years. And while there are other Super Hero games none of them stand so far above the others that they are D&D or Pathfinder to Palladiums unsupported fantasy line.
This could simply be that they saw the (minor) complaints about not producing anything for the Fantasy thing on the anniversary and actually listened to the fans so they ARE doing something for HU.

Maybe....it's still crap. Fantasy may be dead but that is Kevin's own doing by NOT producing material for it.

I agree. But if there's no demand, producing product is a waste of their already Extremely slow, product release scheulde.
We got three books this year. One of them was the second half of Vamp Kingdoms that was written at the same time as the first half.. and another was a 48 page splat book.
If one of those 'three' had been for a system hardly anyone plays and doesn't sell well, it'd have penalized the game systems that people do play and buy.

yeah but it's a catch 22...stop producing/don't produce and you lose demand for it. If D&D stopped making stuff after 20 years (essentially what palladium has done for Fantasy by and large) you think it would have maintained it's popularity while other games made new stuff? not bloody likely.
Like I said on facebook, stuff like this just makes me shake my head in vast disappointment.....I am a Rifts/Robotech guy and only use the other stuff as filler that isn't covered but yeah....disappointment all around

And it is pretty much what I say whenever someone uses the "Rifts pays the bills". Nothing else CAN pay any bills if nothing is done to keep it alive.
At this point, I'm seriously considering closing away my Palladium stuff for good. I'm a Fantasy guy. No fantasy means the company isn't really for me. Which, since it was my favorite fantasy setting, and a system I enjoy, really sucks.
Fantasy is Kevin's favorite my ass....
