OK, since we're not likely to get them any time soon...
What are peoples ideas for the OK Lowlands and the OK Mountains?
General overview, creatures, hidden locations, adventures... keep the spice- err ideas- flowing

I'd comment but.....I don;t really play fantasy. At all. I;d be interested in seeing others ideas though. I'm all about stealing....er getting inspired by the ideas of others...

Hehe.. yeah, a lot of GMs "get inspired" from other peoples stuff...
Well, I figure that in the OK Mountains, there are probably at least a few dwarven strongholds underground. Maybe not any "cities", but more like forts that stayed intact over the years.
We also have plenty of other stuff to build on.. the Gersidi Valley, the New Kingdom ruins/tomb, the Crystal Valley...
In fact, I ran a campaign that took place entirely in the ruins of New Kingdom cities/towns... the characters spent almost 5 game years in the mountains, going from one place to the next (and searching for places), collecting pieces from a NK magical key, to unlock a vault containing "the greatest treasures of the New Kingdom"... which turned out to be various tomes about racial coexistence...

I know that island at the edge of the world does take part in the old kingdoms for part of the adventure.

that's still a clue as to it's layout. I'll have to check Nimero but I'm sure we can piece together something better than "Here be dragons" like how they did on the old maps.

Greetings and Salutations. While I don't have much information on the Old Kingdoms myself, whenever the topic comes up I do always try to provide this little tidbit:
ninjasandsuperspies.yuku.com/topic/413/Old-Kingdom
If you can't view that link for any reason, let me know and I'll try to find the post on the FotM that contains 90% of the same info. Hope that helps. Thank you for your time and patience, please have a nice day. Farewell and safe journeys to all.

After abandoning my work on the OK books, I found the stuff that was canon was contradictory. My view of what the place was did not line up with what was previously presented. I have tried to use the ideas I have in my work of a new, free, and open RPG system. If you search, you will find a lot of information on the OK area. Truly your best bet is to make up something yourself and disregard whatever has been put in the books. I found information on how certain colonies or cities of races dwell there, but then turn around and say it's full of monster races and dragons. Then when you look at various maps, their scale, and location of cities, nothing lines up or makes sense.

For the most part, it is that a lot of those cities USED to be there, but have been destroyed. Mostly monsters now, especially in the lowlands. Mountains might still have some hideaways left of civilized races

No, I'm talking about cities that used to be where the Place of Magic is "now." In fact, if you look at the scale, that area of the map for the OK extends pretty far into the lowlands.
