I'm not a backer of RRT, and boy, after seeing the instructions they put up in regards to building the Spartan, I'm glad I didn't back it. If my memory is correct, these model are supposed to be roughly the same size as a WarHammer 40k model, right?
Fuck that! No way I'd spend my time trying to piece all that BS together to get an army going. 40k was enough for me, and even that tried my patience after 4 years of playing and building. I foresee this game failing so badly, some backers won't even get the parts cut out of the sprues before it's declared dead.

This game is a fail before it ever ships. It is robotech. In fact I'll get more use of the minis for Battletech likely and as a macross game for Mekton Zeta or Silcore

I'm not a backer of RRT, and boy, after seeing the instructions they put up in regards to building the Spartan, I'm glad I didn't back it. Rightly so... and the game did offer ample warning that it was destined to be a spectacular and humiliating failure. The word "Robotech" is right there in the title, after all. If my memory is correct, these model are supposed to be roughly the same size as a WarHammer 40k model, right? The size of the VF-1 miniature, when completed, is roughly the size of a Tau Crisis Battlesuit... so, they're bigger than the average WH40K infantry model, but not by all that much. Fuck that! No way I'd spend my time trying to piece all that BS together to get an army going. 40k was enough for me, and even that tried my patience after 4 years of playing and building. I foresee this game failing so badly, some backers won't even get the parts cut out of the sprues before it's declared dead. Considering practically everyone with experience in tabletop gaming predicted instant and abject failure for this game, it's not surprising at all that the miniatures are an assembly clusterfuck that will frustrate any entry-level gamer into giving up on it right away. The problem is that this game is being marketed almost exclusively to entry-level gamers who'll find this outside their skill set. I've never had any problem with the assembly and painting process of the WH40K minis, and even I would probably find the assembly and painting of the RRT minis trying. To be fair, this game was dead the minute it was proposed... all this nonsense is just an unnecessarily long and drawn-out funeral.
